hello and welcome. Keysoft can translate between braille and text easily. There are two ways to translate. number 1. go into the file manager menu and select "translate between braille and text." When you select this option, the BRAILLENOTE will ask you to select a drive, folder name, and file name. If at any point you don't know what to do, press space with h and the BRAILLENOTE will give you appropriate help messages. Once you have selected a file, the translation process begins. Depending on the size of the file the process could take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Usually the BRAILLENOTE knows what type of file is being translated. If it does not know, it will ask you. If progress tones are on, you will hear a tone every second until translation is complete. After the translation has completed, you will have two files. The original file, and the translated file. Number 2. This is much easier than the first method. Using keyword, open the text file you wish to translate. When you open a text file using keyword, the BRAILLENOTE will ask if you want to review the options. At this point, type y for yes. When you do this, a list opens up. There are some options that you can overlook. Amongst those options, however, is the option "translate into braille?" Type y for yes and exit the list. At this point, the translation process begins. When the file has been translated, you will be placed in the newly-translated file. When you exit this file, the BRAILLENOTE will notify you that the document has been translated into braille. Then it will ask you if you wish to save it as a keyword file. If you say "yes," it will ask you for a new file name, or offer you the current name. When you either type a file name or accept the current name, after a moment, you are out of the document. Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask for more help. I would be happy to assist!

Subject: [Braillenote] QUESTION about translating into Braille.

Hi, list! Can books in text be translated into Braille on the
Voicenute? If so, how do I go about it? Thanks in advance. Dorie
