Hi List!

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Laurent and I'm the
(mostly happy) owner of a new Braillenote PK. I live in the UK and the unit
was supplied by Humanware here in the UK.

While my Braillenote PK works very well and I'm extremely pleased with what
it can do, there is one very disappointing factor: Its battery lasts only
about 4-5 hours after a full charge. I've tried various things, such as
running it down completely with the Braille Display exercise function in the
Support Menu and charging it for a good long stretch afterwards, to no
avail. I've also noticed that, even when on charge for over 24 hours, it
still indicates that it is trickle-charging when pressing "s" in the Support
Information mode.

I'm currently running Keysoft 7.5 build 27 (unit was bought in November and
delivered with KS 7.5 build 22)

I would like to know whether any other PK users have had similar problems
and what was done to resolve them. I recently heard from a friend who
bought another Baum product through Humanware in the UK that he had similar
issues with his brand new acquisition and that he had to return the unit for
repairs.

So, I'd really like to hear from you. It’s a bit of a desperate try, but if
at all possible I'd prefer not to have to return my unit for repairs, since
its becoming a very useful little work tool! Its just so disappointing that
a brand new and very costly piece of kit should be delivered with a problem
like this, which limits how long I can use it for during the day while out
and about!

I look forward to hearing from the list, as well as any Humanware support
staff who may be reading this.

Kind regards
Laurent
