This however does not work for the PK. The speech still kicks in first (if
it is turned on), and then you have to turn off the speech. This is a little
annoying if one wishes to start the PK silently... it can't be done, as far
as I know, anyhow. I'd be extremely happy if I were wrong about this, but so
far, I have not been able to find any way to turn on the PK silently.
