Hey there David,
Most thumb drives work with the braille note just fine. So you should not
have problems there. Just plug in your thumb drive and it should say "hard
disk ready." 
To answer your vr question. You can do that, but you can't unzip the books
on your Braillenote any longer due to the new zip protocol. So you will have
to unzip the files on your pc and then just transfer them to your stream
that way. I don't know the address to the old site, but it was posted here a
few days ago.

hi this is David when I went to the bookshare websight.  I was 
able to login but when I hit log in it said click and jammed up 
and I had to reset and it said starting keysoft 7.5 and know 
build 29 and then I checked in the infermation menue it said 
build 29 what is the address for the old bookshare websight.
and another question can you conect your victor reader stream to 
your brailenote and download files.
I have even another question why can't they put thumbdrive 
drivers on when you buy the braillenote
