I thought the SmallTalk Ultra plus a braille display would replace the
BrailleNote, but it didn't. Here's why:
1. The unit's battery life is abysmal, only 2 hours.
2. The unit took too long to boot.
3. If I want to use a braille display with it, I must carry around a
docking station.
4. After using it for any length of time, speech and braille would
disappear, although WindowEyes was still running.
5. The thumb keyboard is for the birds and the external keyboard's left alt
key won't work. When the same keyboard is connected to my desktop, both alt
keys work.
6. Because the keyboard is small, I must learn other commands to do tasks
which I could do with a full-size keyboard automatically.
7. The speaker doesn't sound well.
8. Sound settings must be changed when you use earphones.
No, the little PCs won't replace a notetaker.
