Hi list.

I'd just like to clear up a few points made on here over the last 24 hours.

From what i understand, you can write in grade 2 anywhere except
for non-braille format documents (documents which are not keyword braille or brf), web addresses, email addresses, online forms and other prompts which display the message "Computer braille is required." Note that you must have the option in the keyboard settings that informs you when a non-preferred braille grade is required set to yes (which is the default). If you have ueb, you can enter ueb anywhere except non-braille formats (see previous explanation), web addresses and online forms. I don't use ueb myself so there may be other places where you cannot use ueb.

You can write emails in grade 2 however, you will need to enter the email address in computer braille (or ueb if enabled). When you receive emails, the header information is always displayed in computer braille whereas the message body will display in your preferred braille grade.

You can send/receive attachments with keymail. If you attach a keyword file, keymail will ask you whether you want to send the file in a different format, offering ms word 2003 as the default. This is the same with receiving attachments. You should be aware of two things though. 1. Most email providers, including gmail, have size limits on attachments. 2. In my experience, keymail struggled to download an email containing an audio file of around 14 MB. If at all possible, i'd recommend downloading large attachments using a pc.

Please note that this list is fairly inactive but hopefully the discussion will soon improve as more members subscribe.

Regarding keyboards: it's really down to a matter of personal preference. If you are quicker and more comfortable with typing on a braille style keyboard, then the BT is for you. I'd assume that both keyboards can get problems with the spacebar.

If you want to check your SMA status, visit: http://www.pulsedata.propagation.net/sdw/user/login.aspx Once there, enter your serial number and the universal password frog1 and click the logon button. You should then be taken to a page where you can check to see how many SMA counts you have left.

Regarding the internet: i'm not sure where temporary internet files are actually stored. The best thing is to just not worry about them and just use the delete option in the "Internet file management menu". As for your other question, i've had this problem before. I've usually ended up having to do a reset to fix the problem.

That's all I have to say for now.
