Here is a message I found from Joseph Lee in the archives.

 Dear list,
Thanks to someone who've sent me a private email, I'm now sending you the instructions on how to change the startup sounds from the
normal one to the one that you want.
You'll need a wav file that is no more than 5
seconds long, otherwise it will cause
problems.
Notes of caution: please keep this in mind: * When you press Reset with dots 4-5-6 (JKL) or if you've performed Service Reset (mPower only), you'll lose the sound file. Therefore I recommend that you make a backup copy of the sound file (do not name it startup as it
will interfere with copying process).
* If you are going to use the Flash Disk
method, be sure to note the date and time
stamp (it must be later than the default
sound file).
Method 1: Copying and renaming from KeySoft
System Disk:
1. Copy the wav file that you want to use to
KeySoft System DiskstWindows folder.
2. After you've copied it, go to Main Menu,
select File Manager and press enter on
Rename.
3. At the drive prompt, select KeySoft
System Disk. At the folder name, select
Windows. At the file name, select the file
that you've just copied.
4. At the rename prompt, tzpe startup in grade 1 and press enter. If it says about existing file, press y to replace it. Then
KeySoft Says, "File Manager Menu." Press
Reset, and you'll hear your new startup
sound.
Method 2: copying to Flash Disk:
1. Copy the sound to Flash DiskstWindows folder. If it says that the folder does not
exist, press y to create it.
2. Then go to Main Menu, select File Manager
and select Rename.
3. At the drive prompt, select Flash Disk. At the folder name, select Windows. At the file name, select the file that you've just
copied.
4. At the rename prompt, type startup in grade 1 and press enter. If it says about
existing file, press y to replace it.
KeySoft then says, "File Manager Menu."
5. Press Reset. KeySoft will restart and present a message, "System Files have been updated, press Reset." Press Reset at this
point. You should hear new sound.
If you have any questions, feel free to post
it to the list.
Cheers,
Joseph
