JMO, but I like hearing it because I know that the restart is going okay. The one time that my classic "died" then "resurrected", it died during a reset.

I used to have to plug headphones into my mPower to prevent the sound, or, when I didn't have any, clamp my hand firmly over the unit's speaker and force a look of determined sanity onto my face.
