If the battery is fully charged, and the unit is switched off, it
typically takes 2 weeks for the battery to discharge. This discharge is
caused by the standby current that keeps the time and date correct,
maintains the KeySoft System Disk, and allows the unit to respond to
Planner alarms.

The battery going flat under standby mode will not do any harm, but we
would normally recommend that the unit shouldn't remain in a completely
discharged state for more than 6 to 8 weeks as it can affect the
batteries ability to take a full recharge.

If the battery goes completely flat you will need to reset the time and
date.

Regards

Maurice

If you do leave your bn for a long time, lets say a month, not charging,

will it drain the battery? If you have left it at the main menu, would
this
do any harm?

The Hibernation control was originally added as a way of minimizing the
current drawn when the units were shipped from New Zealand to US.

We don't recommend that it is used as a daily method of conserving
battery charge. When switched off in the normal manner the
BrailleNote's standby current is small compared to that drawn in normal
operation.

Maurice

Also, what is this supposed to achieve verses just turning it off?

Hi All. Is it safe to put your bn into hybernate mode by
pressing h at support info mode? Cheers, Blake.
