Subject: Different Cases Was Re: [Braillenote] adaptation of
leather carryingcase for PK

Does anyone else experience the frustration of when you put even
the
smallest thing in the bn zipper pocket, the velcro becomes very
tight if
even reaching at all?

Subject: [Braillenote] adaptation of leather carrying case for PK

Cheree Heppe here:

The PK ships with a leather type case, but there are openings in
front and
at the rear that would allow dirt and weather at the PK.

I ordered an Executive Products case that works much better in
this regard,
but the front still exposed too much of the PK to weather and
dirt, etc.

Recently, I ran across a saddler who modified the front flap of
the PK
Leather case so that the PK is now completely covered. The
saddler also
changed the velcro on the Executive Cases case so that the sharp
prong part
of the velcro is now on the case's lid, instead of on the case
body where it
was snagging and causing harm to my sweaters and other clothes.

The modification cost very little and the result has been very
much what I
wanted.

The strap that comes with these cases is a webbing strap with
plastic clips.
I changed this out for an adjustable buckle leather strap that
buttons on to
the rings of the case. The result is a strap that matches the
case and
adjusts, but is difficult to accidentally come free of the case
and rides
silently. You ladies may recognize this type of strap attachment
as the
type the Dooney and Bourque pocketbooks used or may still use. I
like it.

This saddler also makes harness and leads of various types. He
