There is no limit that I have heard of, just make sure, if it is a hard drive, that you have it plugged in if it came with an adapter; between them, the two ports on the bn put out only 500 milliamps, so anything above that needs to be plugged in. Thumb drives, though, work fine, and again there is no max that I know of. Only SD cards have a limit because the actual structure and programming of the card is different when you go above 4gb.
