I just got the bin file and not the boot loader, as I was already on 7.5 but
an earlier build, and my upgrade went fine. Can you get rid of the boot
loader and try again?

Subject: [Braillenote] transplanted unit, trying to go from 7.5 build 29 to
7.5 build 31
Hi,
I tried to update my unit today using the m-power upgrade 7.5 build 31 and I
got past the loading phrase and then got a message about ROM with tones that
indicated a failure. I did a transplant 2 years ago to take my unit from a
classic to m-power, and I believe I am to use the download for the m-power.
Now, I may have messed up because I also downloaded the bootloader and that
may have caused a problem. I just was not clear whether I needed that file
or not. The HW site is a bit confusing, I think. On one page you are
instructed to just download the 7.5 build 31, and on the page with full
instructions it says to download the bootloader too.
So, should I reformat the card and just download the 7.5 build 31 and not
the bootloader? I am currently running 7.5 build 29.
Thanks for any help,
Marsha
