Hello: I am sending each of you this message, reminding you of the Adaptive Technology help Desk here at the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired which I operate. We're still here, having filled almost 2,400 requests for assistance in the past three years. If you can continue to spread the word about our service to people who are blind or visually impaired, that we can assist them with almost any technology question or problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
Speaking of the Help Desk, I will be appearing this evening, April 1 (no joke) on WGN Radio's The Steve and Johnny Show at approximately 11:20 p.m. U.S. central time. This appearance is part of their "Website Wednesday Night" program. I will spend from 7 to 10 minutes talking about the Adaptive Technology Help Desk and the work we have done, Included in this segment will be a chance for me to plug a new JAWS feature, JAWS Tandem which allows me to remotely access someone's computer and either train them on things or fix problems. You can listen either at 720 on the AM dial to WGN, or on-line at www.wgnradio.com. The audio will be archived in case you are not able to hear me live, probably at www.wgnradio.com on Steve and Johnny's After Dark blog. Thanks, and please make sure to spread the word about the help desk to as many people as you can. We're still here, waiting for your calls or e-mails.
