how long had the unit been plugged in before you checked the power level? I've noticed the Braillenote charge very quickly at first.

Subject: [Braillenote] strange situation with my battery

Hi list,
I lost my braillenote charger about 2 weeks ago but found it just today, much to my relief. Right about the time I lost it, it was saying battery is critical, at 1% battery level, so I just saved my place and turned it off. Of course between then and now it went flat, so when I plugged it in today, I reset the time, date, etc. and then went to the support information menu and typed the letter a, and it said gauge is accurate, but when I checked the battery level, strangely it said 17%. Why does it say 17% if the gauge is supposedly accurate? I know how to calibrate the battery because it went flat, and I know about calibration and the reasons, but shouldn't it say inaccurate instead of accurate if it is that far off the mark? I understand, say, 5% being inaccurate and the braillenote will still say accurate, but 17% seemed to me to be just a little more inaccurate than usual. I am about to start the calibration so I'll see what it says when I finish it.
Kerri
