However, the traffic going to and coming from the bn can be
intercepted, just as it can with any device, since the bn does
all the braille translation onboard; when you get an email, it is
an email just like any other, to any other device; we see it as
braille and speech because of keysoft, but until it reaches the
bn it is as vulnerable as anything else. This is why
ssl-encrypted email is so nice, such as that provided by gMail
and supported by ks7.5 or later.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: re: [Braillenote] Question about hacking and Hackers
Hi Jose,
It should be quite hard to hack into the BrailleNote.
The Bn won't, for example, run viruses or any illegitimate
programs.
If you use KeyMail rather than email via the web, I would say
it's very hard to interfere with that also.
So the Bn is quite safe from that point of view.
I'm sure it would be possible for a BN to receive a virus as an
attachment, and although it wouldn't hurt the BN, if that
attachment was then forwarded to someone's PC, that might mess up
their PC.
Regards,
Steve.

were evil."

Subject: [Braillenote] Question about hacking and Hackers
Hello; Listers, I have a question. Is it possible to hack in to
the BrailleNote? I am just asking because in another mailing list
that I am in someone got hacked and someone is sending emails
under this person's name and email address. Can Hackers get to
the BrailleNote and how can we protect it?
