Hi Sam,
Same situation here. On my case, once I sign in, the list of messages are
shown at the bottom of the page. There is a checkbox next to it, allowing
the user to mark the message(s) and perform action on it, such as deleting
it.

Ok Grant, and everyone else,

Here's the deal.  This email is through a university.  It too is 
an exchange server.  I can put in the user name, password, and 
then I go to the in-box.  Then, I don't really have a good idea 
of how to jup to the first message without reading through séal 
links.  Also, do you know a quick way of getting from the first 
message to the next, and so on without reading through extra 
stuff?  Answers are appreciated.
