Subject: RE: [Braillenote] External Hard Drive Again/UPGRADING TO
KS 7.5 BUILD 31 AND STORAGE DEVICES?!?

Hi Kristen,
Long time no see...
FAT is not a file format. It is a type of a file system that is
popular with
storage devices. A file system is a way of organizing files and
folders.
As for USB devices in general, you can get them from anywhere -
Bestbuy,
Staples, Radio Shack, etc. These days, USB hubs are cheap - one
can even buy
a seven port hub for around $40 (I guess).
As for USB storage, it is unlimited in terms of capacity. One can
now get a
2 TB (Terabyte, or 2000 GB/Gigabyte) external USB hard drive for
around
$150. As for thumb drives, the maximum right now is 32 GB, but it
could go
as high as several terabytes.
Mainly, KeySoft 7.5.31 addresses Bookshare compatibility with new
compression format support, as well as IEEE 802.11G WiFi standard
(thanks to
a CF WiFi card driver included with build 29).
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] External Hard Drive Again

Some of you may remember that I got an external hard drive for
Christmas and
was trying to hook it up to my Mpower 7.5. At the time, I gave
up because
the bn could not provide enough power, one of my USB's being
broke. I now
have a USB hub. The drive is 160 gb and it is not fat format.
Has any one
had any luck with an external hard drive and a usb hub with the
bn?
