Hi folks,
As the subject line says, version 5 of BrailleNote PBWorks (formerly PBWiki)
is being constructed and is ready for beta testing i.e. feedback on new
content. Some of the changes as of version 5.0 Beta build 2 (July 2009)
include:
* A new article, entitled "Does BrailleNote support Word 2007 Documents," is
now up on Support Hotline section. It talks about whether BrailleNote
supports new docx document format, and how to save and read Word 2007
documents as either Word 2003 (doc) or RTF file on the BrailleNote. I would
appreciate if it is simple enough for all.
* Several "infant stage" i.e. articles with "place holder' tag has been
added under Support Hotline. These include article names on virtual memory,
changing system sounds, configuring Google Talk on the BraileNote (using
information that I found on the Internet) and so forth. These are not
actually articles, but article titles so that I can start work on it later
(not today though due to my summer school work and complexity of information
on some articles, especially one on virtual memory).
* Some information from keySoft 8.0 feature announcement are now up on front
page.
I plan to introduce official version 5.0 after KeySoft 8.0 is released by
HumanWare (I need to come up with simple explanation about XMPP and how to
use Audible books; the announcement text alone is not enough).
Starting from version 5.0, the URL for the website is slightly different:
now, the new website address is braillenote.pbworks.com.
As always, any suggestions on the website, as well as words on articles (any
fixes needed, suggestions, etc.) are welcome.
Cheers,
Joseph
