1. Make sure you subscribed with the new name. That's the only thing I
can think of right now.
2. With gmail's chat feature, she will have the IM in her inbox as a
new email if she wasn't online at the time assuming she uses the web
interface. I'd have to test if it works if they use something like
outlook.
3. I don't know if it works but if it does, Google Calendar does give
you the option to be notified of appointments a couple of different
ways. It can email a specified number of minutes ahead of time, send a
text message to a cell phone, or on the PC, popup a window if you have
the page open.
