Dear BrailleNote list members,
I recently received a Sandisc 128 MB WiFi plus Compact Flash Memory
card and have not been able to get my BrailleNote PK to go online. The
card detects available networks and the BrailleNote says that it is
connected to the wireless network. However, When I bring up Keyweb, I
receive the "cannot find server" error. Since the PK does not support
WPA, I have tried logging onto other wireless networks that are
unsecured just to see if my BrailleNote would go online. I don't have
access to networks supported by WEP yet. Has anyone else experienced
this problem? A technology representative at Humanware thought that
the problem could be with the wireless networks themselves not
broadcasting for B cards (802.11B I think) and only broadcasting for
G. It seems as if the B standard (I don't know what to call these
different things) is antiquated. Has anyone been able to find a
wireless network that brodcasts for or works with the 802.11B cards?
I am also wondering if the PK will ever support WPA and why the
ability to access WPA networks is limited to the MPower.
I am not trying to complain. I think that the BrailleNote is a
wonderful product and I don't know what I would do without mine. This
wireless problem is a little annoying though. If anyone could give me
some tips for accessing the Internet wirelessly with the BrailleNote
PK, that would be great.
Thank you.
Chanelle
