thanks for your input.
however, this strange phenonima isn't really to do with the way
the bn speaks, more, i think, to do with the way it translates
the original text.
i say this because when my pk speaks the word "inches" instead of
in, the word "inches" is on the br display.
also, and interestingly, i've just checked "the guardian" and the
"new scientist", and this strange behaviour doesn't accur.
it only seems to happen with "the sun" and "the daily telegraph".

when i read publications that i have downloaded from tnauk,
sometimes the
word "in" is spoken as "inches".
the word also appears as inches on the braille display.
just wondering why this might be.
not every occurence of the word "in" comes out as "inches".
at first i thought it might just be happening when the word "in"
is
preceeded by a number, but this is not the case.
an example could be something like, the weather got so bad that
they had
to come back inches to the house.
