Hi folks,

Today's Sixth BrailleNote Chat went very well. About seven people
participated, including myself, Alex Hall, Ethan, Robin (from Austrailia),
Haden Pike and others. There was no pause between questions, answers and
comments. Some of the things that were discussed include:

. KeySoft 8.0: Few things, including:

. KeyChat is fine, although some problems remain, such as repeated
"failed to sign in" message, capitalization on some of the menu items, and
about XMPP and compatibility with other messenger protocols such as Yahoo,
MSN and such.

. Word issues: Continued problem of language tag "$lge" in KeySoft
8.0.

. Audible: whether audible manager can be downloaded directly to
BrailleNote and authorizing storage cards.

. Eluquence: Not being able to switch to Eloquence despite choosing
this option, why Eloquence is used when reading DAISY books, and slowness of
the BrailleNote after choosing Eloquence.

. Operating system upgrade: it would be advisable to upgrade
BrailleNote's operating system to at least CE 5.0 to take advantage of
increased memory and stability, as well as newer features such as using
Flash to store program and user data, increased virtual memory and so forth.

. Hardware suggestions: Participants agreed that it is vital for BN
family to see a hardware/motherboard upgrade that includes better Bluetooth,
built-in Ethernet and WiFi, more memory on RAM and Flash and so on.

. Software development: All about SDK, including opening up KeySoft
so that programmers can write programs for it, comments on open source (is
it bad or not), menu structuring (so that added programs would appear on
Main Menu) and so forth.

. Product comparison and information: English version of Braille
Sense SDK (sorry about that if it offends some pelple hear) when a Korean
sDK for BS family already exists, the structure of keysoft.exe as one, big
applications as opposed to collection of smaller programs and so forth.

The audio recording of this chat will be uploaded to Blind Geek Zone as soon
as possible.

Also, if you want me to host another chat (although a larger one with more
crowd than thde Sixth one) before end of this year, let me know (I need to
balance between social functions and school work though.). Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph
