Subject: [Braillenote] a strange problem with ActiveSync

Hello fellow braillenote users,
I seem to be having a really strange problem. I'm currently connected
to activesync with my braillenote and my pc, but for some reason, I'm
not able to get to the file structure of the braillenote. To be exact,
I can't get the folders and files on the bn to show up on my pc screen.
When I connected to ActiveSync, I got the usual screen that asks
whether or not you want to set up your device as a guest or cyncronize
files. I selected no setup my device as a guest so that I can copy
files between my device and this desktop computer. (or however that
message goes). Anyway, This is as far as I got. When I arrow through
the file menu of ActiveSync, I find that there is no explorer icon. In
a previous version of ActiveSync, I remember that we had to select
(explorer) in order to bring up our braillenote's file system on the
computer screen. The connection settings diolog box contains the
following:
1. show statis icon in taskbar. (this is checked)
2. Allow usb connections (this is checked)
3. Allow connection to the following (this is unchecked)
Just past this checkbox is a drop-down menu called (this computer is
connected to) and it contains three options:
1. automatic
2. work network
3. the internet.
Just past this drop-down menu, there's another checkbox labeled open
ActiveSync when my device connects, and this box is checked. The only
remaining things on this diolog are a help button, an ok button, and a
cancel button. On the file menu, the (mobile device pull-down option is
disabled. And like I stated above, there's no (explorer) icon anywhere
in sight. I'm using a braillenote Mpower bt 18, and ActiveSync version
4.5, build 5096, and of course, keysoft 8. This may or may not make any
difference, but on my pc, I'm using windows xp. Have any of you ever
experienced this? I can't figure out what's going on here. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Mike
