Good day:

To view a document correctly in braille, you have two options:
1. You can simply choose text at the prompt "Is this a braille or text document?", which will display the document in your preferred grade of braille when you read it. Note, however, that you will have to make any corrections in computer braille. 2. Use the translate option found in the file manager. In this case, you would first go to the main menu. Then, press f for the file manager. Here, you would press t for the translation menu, and then i for import file, after which you would press enter. At the prompt which says "import from which device?", press enter to accept the default of importing a file. Then, you would navigate to the file to be imported using standard navigation procedures. The braillenote would then prompt asking in which language the file was written. Unless it is not in english, press enter. Navigate to the folder in which you want the braille file to be located. Lastly, the unit would prompt you for the name you want to give to the imported file. After this procedure, you would be able to read and edit the file in your preferred braille grade.

As for exporting a file with the correct number of blank lines and spacing, your only option is to use the export option from the translation menu. This procedure is similar to the import option, except that here you can choose which file type you want for the exported file.

There may, of course, be other solutions which I did not think of, but those are my recommendations.

Hope this helps,
Henry

Subject: [Braillenote] Maintaining Original Layout

Hello,

When I transfer a Word or text file to my mPower I cannot find a way for the
lines and indentations to be kept the same as the original document. Upon
opening such a document I enter Yes on Review Options. I change text to
Braille and open the document to find that each line is indented by two
spaces and there are no blank lines to mark paragraphs the way that the
original text file was arranged. I've tried switching between Lines and
Paragraphs to open and save the document, but neither option has worked.

Basically, I just want the mPower to show me the document exactly as it is
laid out in its original form without having to add blank lines or delete
spaces. I also want to be able to write documents in the mPower, convert
them to text or Word and have them appear with the same number of blank
lines and spacing.

Can someone lend some assistance? I'm running Keysoft 7.5, if that is at
all helpful. I may be selling the device, but meanwhile I'd like to be able
to have it work for me. Thank you in advance.
