Hi all,

I know I have said I would update Knotted String and my calculator, but my bn is still in the shop so I am using an old vn. However, out of necessity (I am taking a class that requires this), I have made a statistics calculator that is, as usual, just a webpage and works on any version of the bn that supports web browsing. You may be thinking, "but the braillenote already HAS a statistics calculator." I know, and mine cannot save or load data sets, but here are the advantages:

1. Basics: mean, median, sum, sum of squares, range, minimum, maximum, sorting values numerically, population and standard deviations. 2. Things you do not get on a bn: sample variance, values of the first and third quartiles, the relative frequencies of each number (and absolute frequencies), each number's Z-Score, a list of mathematical outliers. 3. You also get bivariant data: enter two data sets, or a list of ordered pairs, and get the sample correlation coefficient of the two sets, plus the formula of the least squared line (also called the line of best fit). The program detects when you enter two data sets and gives you this bivariant data as well as the information in numbers 1 and 2 above for both sets individually. 4. You can round all answers to however many decimal places you want (between 1 and 15), with the default set to 4.

This is currently a stand-alone program (my main calculator program is not working at the moment, but I needed this stats program for class). If you want a copy, just email me. As usual, save the file somewhere easy to find from keyweb (I recommend the "my favorites" folder), then go to keyweb and find the file. Suggestions for interface improvements or new features are always welcome.

Have a great day,
Alex
