texts and tools that will ensure they become successful readers and learners. 
You will explore Bookshare's services and website, practice using Read:OutLoud 
and the ClassMate Reader, hands on.

            New screen reader software application provides blind and visually

            This presentation will explore the use of using a text reader 
effectively and provide guidance on the underlying pedagogy needed for 
successful implementation. By using the model of a research study, the 
presentation will explore the following: How to use a text reader effectively 
in the classroom; guidance on the underlying pedagogy needed for successful 
implementation; discussion of the resulting improvement of reading skills after 
using a portable text reader. 

            What's New in Low Vision

            This session will give an overview, questions and answers and hands 
on play with the latest low vision products form HumanWare, both portable and 
desktop types. 

            Friday October 30 
            Communication Utilizing Today's Technology for the Deaf-Blind

            Speaker: Greg Stilson 

            This presentation will explain how Humanware, working in 
conjunction with the Washington State Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing 
(ODHH), as well as focus groups consisting of Deaf-Blind Professionals and 
trainers, greatly assisted in the development of this exciting communication 
solution. 

            A Day in the Life of a Victor Stream 
            12:00PM-12:30PM
            Room: Education Theater in Exhibit Hall
            Speaker: Dave Wilkinson 

            A normal days' use of the VictorReader Stream DAISY player will be 
demonstrated during this session. A Victor Stream user can access the morning 
paper, create bookmarks in textbooks for study, leisurely listen to music, or 
check out the latest Best Seller. The Victor Stream can do all this and more, 
and session attendees will be shown how. 

            Trekker Breeze: GPS

            The new Trekker Breeze allows a much wider portion of the 
population living with a visual impairement, a physical or cognitive handicap 
to benefit from the use of a GPS orientation tool. Simple and easy to operate, 
the Breeze is designed for non technical people looking for a basic navigation 
system to assist them in their day-to-day routes and travel in local 
environments.

            Blind people have been enjoying the power and productivity offered 
in notetakers such as the BrailleNote for years. Now the mainstream world has 
caught on. Computers are getting smaller and more powerful every day. Netbooks 
and free screen readers have made accessible computers more affordable than
