Try:
SPACE with DOTS 3-6,, then square root sign (dots 3-4-5 in
Nemeth), type 49 then ENTER. It should say negative 7.

When I do negative square roots on the calculator, it does a beep
and returns the result 0. I'm say "negative square root of 49."
