Have any of you ever tried to connect to keyweb via the usb connection?
According to section 14.14.2 of the user's guide, this can be done
using the same connection that we'd normally use to connect to active
sync. The directions say the following:
To use this connection to access the internet there are a few more
simple steps
1. Enter the options menu by pressing space with o.
2. Press C for connectivity then space to get to create new dialup or
lan connection. Press enter. Keysoft prompts Connection configuration
name? type a name that is meaningful to you and press enter.
3. keysoft prompts device to use? cycle through the options to ethernet
network connection. and press enter. Now, here's where things get a bit
weird. When I get to the device to use prompt, the field is already
filled in with (internal modem), and there's no way to change this
option. I've tried pressing space with X, and X cord, but all I get is
a beep from keysoft. Assuming that there was an ethernet option, the
last few steps are quite obveous. It tells me to press enter after
locating ethernet network connection, then press E cord to exit the
menu, and then press Y for yes to save the configuration. Finally, the
directions say to return to the main menu, and press I for internet.
Sounds quite simple huh? I wonder why HW would describe a method in the
user guide that doesn't really exist? All the options under the device
to use heading, are for the dialup modem, which I can't use. Is this a
flaw on Humanware's part? or am I forgetting to do something. On a
slightly different bn topic, I'd like to set up the bn so that when I
transfer word documents from the pc to the bn, they will automatically
transcribed to the .pwd format. The directions in the guide say to go
to the options menu within Activecync itselfto make the necessary
changes. However, the options menu in Activecync, is disabled. Why is
this? Finally, I've noticed that whenever I'm reading a document, these
strange symbols keep popping up before, in the middle of, and at the
end of text in keyword. If I'm writing something, the same symbol pops
up everytime I press enter. Is there anything I can do to stop these
symbols from showing? The symbols I'm refering to are, the e d signs
followed by the letter p and sometimes the letter f. I'm sure these
symbols do have their purpose, but I find them rather annoying. They
tend to get in the way when reading. How do I turn these off?
