Sort of. The bn is trying to create an AJAX object, which is
short for
Asynchronous Javascript and XML. It is how web pages update
information
without reloading the page. For example, some websites have,
say, a set of
search results. When you go to the next set of results, the page
does not
reload, but the new results appear where the old ones were. This
sort of
thing is also known as dynamic HTML, or DHTML, a feature BN
owners have been
asking for for a long time. There is more to DHTML, AJAX just
being one way
to do it.
Have a great day,
Alex

Hi,
Not sure but think it probably means that the BN is being asked
to process
some XML.
This is not the same as HTML and I don't think the BN supports
it.
The bit about the "instance", that sounds a bit C++ish.
This gets a little tricky, not least because I can't remember
for sure.
In C++ you have classes, which are a bit like some defined
storage,
(character arrays, numbers, structures), plus functions to
access them all
bundled together.
(Classes are sometimes called objects).
An instance is sort of like an actual occurrence of that class.
So the definition of a class is just it's definition, but once
you declare
something, I.e., try to create a variable of that class type you
have an
instance of it.
Someone correct me if that's wrong - it's been a while.
(It might only apply to template classes, but it's the sameish).
Anyway, the BN is probably saying, "let me try and create one of
those XML
things" and finds it can't.
XML and HTML are I believe similar and based on some common
classes.
So it could be that there is a class called "webything" and you
can choose
HTML or XML flavour.
The BN will do one but not the other.
Regards,
Steve.

When I go to the site
www.betstar.com.au
go to the bottom of the page with dots 4 5 6 and space.
Then backspace til I get to the link Davis Cup.
Enter on that.
I get the message,
"keyweb cannot create xmlhttp instance".
What does this mean?
The site is being worked on, what can I suggest to those working
on it that may make this site accessible.
I have been able to use it with the Braille Note, bt 32 running
KS 8 in the past.
Peter.

Subject: [Braillenote] PBWorks: Updates as of November 21, 2009
Hi folks,
There were few additions and updates to the PBWorks site. Some
of the new
features as of 6.0.55 include:
.. Corrected text on Apex Corner (the correct RAM should
read 256 MB
instead of 267).
.. Added new articles under Support Hotline, as well as
updated
several of them to reflect features announced as of BrailleNote
Apex. The
new additions include articles on switching between KeyNote Gold
and
Eloquence, how to tell the differences between various BN models
and a word
on "virtual memory is below certain percent" - for this, I would
like to
thank Mike for reporting this problem; your problem and
suggestions from
list members gave me inspiration to write the article in
question.
.. I would also like to thank people on reporting about
Apex specs
and hardware (especially AR )I would like to know what your name
is, grin)
and Denise). I am reading your posts from the list archive and
taking notes
for a future article on Apex hardware.
The website address is, as it has been, braillenote.pbworks.com.
Let me know
if you have comments.
Cheers,
Joseph
