Hi folks,

I am back to report that the BrailleNote PBWorks 6.0 Public Beta 2 is now
online. In this version:

. The user interface, particularly the front page has changed
slightly. It now includes directions on how to navigate the PBWorks page (at
least finding links) using a BrailleNote or a screen reader. At this time,
the instructions are for finding links; I'll add how to return to previous
page as soon as possible.

. BrailleNote Tour: Basics has now a new, newbie-friendly
introduction! In this version, the page has been cleaned up and the text is
more simpler. Thanks to a suggestion from Alex Hall, I noted the tech specs
of each of the BrailleNote line on that page as well. At this time, the
intro has been updated. As time goes by, I'll update the rest of the page to
be more friendly towards beginning users.

. Fixed a broken link issue with "Supported file types under word
processor" article under Support Hotline. Also, some articles has seen
changes thanks to information from the Apex manual (both BT and QT).

Miscellaneous:

. Originally, this beta was meant to be a compatibility build - so
that new Apex users can try the site on their BrailleNote to see if it
works. However, due to delay in shipment of the Apex, the earliest public
beta for testing Apex compatibility will not happen until Beta 3 (towards
beginning of next year) when people start reporting about the Apex.

. After this beta, the majority of the site updates will focus on
cleaning the website text, updating out-of-date information on some
articles, user interface/menu title changes and so forth (mostly to simplify
the layout and text of the website). There will be updates and additions to
ever growing number of support articles, with the majority of them focusing
on the Apex. In this task, I need your help in: finding useful articles to
post and finding things to update and simplify.

The website address is, as it has been, braillenote.pbworks.com. If you have
any comments about this release, please let me know (by the way, I'll be
gone for majority of next week.). Again, thanks for your continued support.

Cheers,

Joseph S. Lee
