What do you mean it is not stereo? The release notes and other documents have said that it has built-in stereo speakers, so I am not sure how that happened. Is it stereo in headphones? Maybe you are far enough away that the speakers sound mono since they are pretty close together?

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Audible on the Apex

Hi Yall,
I have returned to the list the other day, I wanted to see what
folks are thinking of the new Apex. I received mine on Wednesday. I have
to admit I still like the form factor of the PK better, however I do like
having the extra power and the design of the apex. I cannot figure out why
the units speaker is mono though. I see two speaker grills, and for the
price you cannot say that they could not have stereo. My question that I am grappling with right now is that I cannot get audible to see my apex when it is plugged into the computer using my usb cable. I would like to authorize
it to play audible books. Does anyone know a trick or technique to this
process. I have updated the unit to the latest build thinking that this may
fix my issue, however this did not take care of the problem. The machine
that I am connecting to is running winxp pro. I know that the computer sees the Apex, because it is in the device manager under win c device. Thanks in
advance.
Sincerely,
Scott
