Although I've had this post a little while, it's only now I can comment.
I want you to know that I checked through it before setting about to do our
Apex WiFi connection as I didn't want to copy connections across. I found
the comments below most helpful in checking my own router setup before
connecting up the Apex, especially as I was relieved and very glad to find
they matched mine! I'm really pleased to say, the Apex setup was done in no
time at all and the connection has remained stable, switching off the WiFi
on the Apex, turning off the machine and going back a number of times today.

Hi folks,
At last, I have succeeded in using my home wireless
connection for the first time (I'm using my BrailleNote
to send this email via WiFi). I'm using a Linksys Draft
N router. I now figured out why BrailleNote would not connect to
these routers easily: This is because the router was set
to use "mixed" mode where it will accept all WiFi
standards - A, B, G, Draft N. Setting this mode to G only
solved this problem. Few WiFi tips:
* If you have KeySoft 7.5.29 if you have Ambicom 54ong
card, use "G only" mode for your router.
* If you still have the B card, use G/G mode.
For Apex users, it is preferable to use G only mode on
your router.
Few more tips:
It is a good idea to set up your wireless router manually
from the router screen itself. Most routers allow users
to configure them using a web interface. For ease of
configurability, use your computer to do so.
* It is a good idea to change the SSID of your network. Once done, I
recommend hiding it (if you are at home and
don't want others besides those who live at your house to
use your network). * Also, if using WiFi security
setting, use WPA Personal (not WPA2 since it is not
supported by the BrailleNote. Also, for authentication
type, use TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol, a way of
allowing WEP devices to use WPA without breaking
compatibility). At least that's what I have. Hope this helps.
