Hi, Penny,
Go to the Options menu. Find "Braille Options." Cycle through them until
you get to "Thumb Set." You will be told if your current set is
righthanded, lefthanded, or custom. On a qwerty keyboard, you would press
control space to cycle through the three choices, I don't know what the bt
command is. Anyway, choose "Custom." Now, go to the next section of the
options menu which will tell you what you have set up for each thumb key,
beginning with the left. If you want the key to be advance, press a. If
you want it to be back, press b. If you want it to be next, press n. If
you want it to be previous, press p. Then press enter to go to the second
thumb key. Follow the steps I just mentioned to set up each of the four
thumb keys. When you've finished setting them up, exit the options menu and
answer yes to save the settings.
The directions for customizing the thumb keys is in the "Braille Display
Topics" in the subtopic called "options."

Subject: [Braillenote] Need to change thumb-key set
I've been looking in the manual to figure out how to change the
thumb-keys. I'm getting desperate. I see lots of things but not how to
get there initially.
If I see "thumb-keys, turn them on" or "off" once more, I'm apt to jump
into the air.
What am I missing? I've read through relevant parts of the manual.
I hope to soon have my apex and would like to start with it (and even now
use the BN) by changing the set of thumbs.
Thanks for help.
Penny
