The Apex has an alarm, and headphones do nothing to silence it. Just hit
enter-n to see your next appointment. This will tell you the time of the
next alarm, even if your appointment does not have an alarm set on it. For
example, you may see "Your next appointment is dentist appointment, on April
12, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. No alarm is set. The next alarm is
scheduled to ring tomorrow at 6:30 A.M." If you see an alarm set, just go to
the planner and modify the appointment to have no alarm. I wish there was a
way to disable all alarms, then have a message spoken onstartup letting you
know that alarms are off, but manually disabling them, or maybe setting the
alarm volume very low, is the best you can do for now. Sorry.

Have a great day,

Subject: [Braillenote] Help with planner

Dear List,
I accidentally sent this question to Marcia. Sorry about that, Marcia.

In the planner for theMPower, that warning sound would go forth even,
as I recall, if the speech was turned off.

I don't even know if there's a warning tone for the APEX, but if
there is, how can I make sure that it will never go off in a quiet meeting?
If I plug something into the headphone jack, will that insure the
speaker won't sound with an alarm?
Or does the apex even have an alarm. I never looked. Now I'll have
to wait till mine arrives.

Thanks in advance.
Penny

p.s. sorry again, Marcia.
