Hello list:

I can't get Braille terminal mode to work with JAWS on one of my PC's. Jaws
lets me add the BrailleNote and even lists it when I go into Braille
options, but it keeps saying "active Braille display, no Braille display"
and the BrailleNote (Apex) simply says "Braille terminal" but never displays
any input from JAWS. A colleague of mine was able to fix this temporarily by
deleting one of my Windows user setting files, but when I tried to change
some of the Braille display settings in Jaws, it "lost" the BrailleNote and
wouldn't reconnect to it, even though the device still appeared in the list
of Braille displays as the default Braille display. And BTW, the reason I
was trying to change the settings was that even while the BrailleNote was
acting like a Braille display, I couldn't get the thumb keys and keyboard on
the BrailleNote to behave the way JAWS says they are supposed to. In other
words most keystrokes from the BrailleNOte didn't do the things they were
supposed to do. Hope all this makes sense. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,

Chris

P.S. I installed the HumanWare drivers according to instructions and that
seemed to go fine. My guess is the problem is on the PC side but I can't
figure out what it is.
