I am considering purchase of an Apex, but I have never used a Braille Note. All my experience with braille notetakers has been with Braille Lite 40 units. I am a great fan of web braille, and the Braille Lite 40's 40-cell display is ideal for reading web braille files a line at a time since the volumes embossed by NLS contractors are almost universally a maximum of 39 characters per line. Can anybody give me sort of a rundown of what options are available with the Apex for handling the wrapping of web braille files? I like seeing paragraphs and centering of text, but I also wonder whether the reading is a little choppy if you set up to have each line of the original file wrap onto two lines of the braille display. It would seem that the pattern of one long line followed by a possible short one could be a little awkward to read comfortably.
Is it easy to make on-the-fly adjustments to how the text is "flowed" on the display if, for example, you've been reading with the text re-formatted and suddenly discover that you really want to look at a passage in a way that's truer to how the original braille file is formatted? I'm thinking of indented blocks like footnotes, chapter headings, and perhaps poetry where the true placement of line breaks is important to the interpretation of the text.
