Hi:
And, yes, this has been the problem. The solution
is not an easy one, hence the promises and the
delays. While I feel that we may expect some
conversion from docs to rtf may be in order the
larger features of the MS Word program will never be
a part of the BrailleNote system.
My work requires documents with tables and column,
headers and footers - complexities that would be
wonderful - but I'm not holding my breath.
Best of luck.

Subject: [Braillenote] Word Support: A puzzling
issue...
Hi folks,
I finally figured out (indirectly) why there was
silence from HW about Word
support: based on the analysis of the docs (both
from bN and on the PC), it
was determined that the BN version uses RTF tags
instead of usual Word tags.
Furthermore, it was discovered that the BN's word
file is actually enhanced
RTF file, subject to WordPad's conversion rules i.e.
we were dealing with
RTF with enhanced capabilities until now. I'm
currently doing some searches
to see if Windows CE actually supports advanced Word
features (unlikely).
Alex, Richard, any thoughts.
Cheers,
Joseph
