Good Day:
The one issue that has been answered by humanware is the time issue. For
some reason, as stated in the Keysoft 9 release notes, when the BrailleNote
is set to daylight savings time, every time the unit is reset, the clock is
moved ahead by one hour. This can be gotten around by syncronizing the clock
through either active sync or a wireless connection, or by manually setting
the clock. I personally thought it made sense to have the BrailleNote work
strictly off of AC Power.
Thank You:
Henry

Subject: [Braillenote] Few more Apex notes...
Hi folks,
Just sent a message to one of the keySoft programmers at HW about my
situations.
Well, here are some more Apex notes:
. When you remove the battery, Apex continues to run (does not
power
off at least when AC adapter is connected).
. The Clear Settings Reset has the same effect as deleting
keysoft.ksd under Flash Disk/Dictionaries folder on the mPower, PK and
Classic.
. When a user deletes folders from Flash, some folders such as
KeyPlan and General comes back; the "additional folders" - those used to
house KeySoft Extensions, are gone (Oxford folder, for example).
. Just like Alex mentioned earlier, RAM Disk (KeySoft System Disk)
is still there. Also, RAM is indeed 256 MB, with 208 MB for running
programs
and 48 MB as KS System Disk (herein refered to as RAM Disk, a way of
partitioning RAM for storage purposes).
. Reset time is longer now - mostly because the system files are
in
Flash, which is slower than RAM.
. This maybe my situation, but when I reset the unit, the RTC
(Real-Time Clock) displays wrong date and time even though when I set the
correct time via Date and Time Set and using WMDC (Windows Mobile Device
Center; I'm using Vista). This happens on every reset.
That's all I have. I still plan to test Peter's question.
Cheers,
Joseph
