Hi folks, particularly Apex users,
It is indeed possible to take a look at what's under Windows felder on the RAM Disk (not Flash). If you need to access files - for instance, the various wav files, from Main Menu, go to Internet, then at the "address" prompt, type \windows\whatever the file name.extension; press ENTER. After this is done, either download box will appear (for wav and similar things, including documents) or play it under Media Player (for known media file types). The theory here is to "fool" KeyWeb to show us what is under Windows on RAM Disk, provided that if we remember the file name that we are looking for. Based on the results, here are the files that are under Windows (so ft):
* Actual startup music for Apex: keysoft startup.wav.
* Classic-like startup sound: startup.wav.
* An intro to IE for Windows CE: about.htm
And others.
And sorry - I couldn't locate cmd.exe using this mothod.
A word of caution: IF YOU MODIFY ANY OF THESE FILES VIA METHODS DESCRIBED LAST MONTH (using Backup or Restore Files algorithm), THERE's NO WAY TO RETURN THEM TO DEFAULT SET (for now)! BE VERY CAREFUL HERE!!! As I've mentioned for anything that requires modification of this kind: USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! And, just to clarify: I don't work for HumanWare.
Hope this helps (for some here...).
Cheers,
JL (UCR)
