Hi, All
As mentioned on Friday, my apex battery is lying to me! Yes, I
know this must seem like an annoying problem! And to tell you the
truth, it is. But anyway, I do not have all day to spend yaking.
So, to the point. I used the bn on battery yesterday to do some
math, listen to Huck Finn (a good novel), and record 8 mb of info
(approx. 3 min.) When listening to Huck Finn, apex all of the
sudden just stopped, mid-sentence. I was about 6/10 of the way
through the book when it did that: just near chapter 21. A soft
reset would not work, so I proceeded to a five-second reset which
also did not work. Also, before I go on, I might mention that my
battery was reading 15% at starting chapter 20. Anyway I went to
a 456 reset, which sort-of helped, it got all the way past the
chime but went no further. So, we'll leave names unmentioned,
but I heard tell of a third and more risky reset. But before
doing it, I tried the equivalent of a service reset on the mpower
(i.e.) reset and the record button. The apex turned off and did
not restart. I then plugged it into ac adapter, hoped nothing
would go wrong / no data be lost, and did a 123 reset. it
re-installed manuals, printers, and english documents. At the
end (after setting the clock forward 2 hours), it displayed main
menu and I looked up the battery level, which now displayed 40%.
This all took about 5 minutesddIs it time for a new battery,
after 2 and a half weeks of use?
