Hi,
Hmmm, sounds like a low memory problem. Let's see...
Virtual memory allows programs to think that there is more space to work with when there isn't. Normally, when a program works with files and data, the contents would be scattered throughout RAM (physical memory). Without continguous i.e. continuous space, programs would not be able to access the data (because programs want continuous space). In order to resolve this problem, a special kind of memory, or virtual memory comes in to tie up the "loose ends" - allowing the program to work with data that is partially located somewhere else in memory. By default the mPower allows up to 32 MB of this virtual space. When this runs out, the message, "virtual memory is below certain percent" will be displayed. The more memory KdySoft is using (particularly with KeyWeb), the probability of getting this message increases. The only real solution at this point is a Warm Reset. As for folder deletion and other things, don't worry about those - things stored on Flash does not make a difference when using virtual memory. However, I suggest that you use KeyNote Gold (if possible) when browsing the web. The problem with virtual memory does not appear under Apex, which has 2 GB of virtual memory to work with. The slowness associated with low memory (particularly with physical one, but it'll not get lower than about 45% free) still lingers - mostly because of the nature of these mobile devices. Hope this was simple enough... Er, other programmers, have any other suggestions?
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Virtual Memory

Hi Listers. I have a question about virtual memory. Sometimes,
when I've been using Keymail or Keyweb a lot, I get a message
saying that the virtual memory is almost full or something to
that extent. My own "virtual memory" is suffering at the moment
(haha) so I can't quite remember the message. However, I
wondered what to do when this happens. Last time, I tried to
clear out some of my emails and did a couple of resets. I know
it got rid of the message but I'm wondering what the virtual
memory is.

Thanks.

Michele
