Hi,
Hmmm, based on what I have, I think it's time for a trip to the shop up
north... If the Service Reset does not fix the display problem, then I guess
you might need to send in that unit... Right now my own unit is in transit
to the shop...
Cheers,
Joseph

When I went into utilities, options and r
The unit did not talk the whole time.
I am trying to get my braille display to come back to life.
I think it said calibration complete. This was 3 weeks ago.

Hi Rick,
>From my experience, you can just use your BrailleNote until the unit

itself off. First, fully charge the unit, as you've described. Then use your
BrailleNote on battery until the unit turns of (ignore the critical
warning). After this is done, recharge the BrailleNote for at least two
hours.
With this setup, I expect the whole process to take no more than a day
(around 10 to 15 hours). As for using speech and/or Braille, it's really up
to you. The whole point of recalibration is to simulate unit usage from full
battery charge until the battery is drained.
If you elect to use Support Information Mode method, then I suggest using
both speech and Braille (around volume 1 for speech).
Hope this helps...
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] battery reconditioning

Hello,

I am back on this list after a multi-year absence. I recently got my
BrailleNote MPower BT 32 repaired and reconditioned, and I am just starting
to have questions.

When I got the unit back, I got a message that the battery was critical. I
immediately plugged in and got it recharged. What puzzled me is the I got
"battery needs recondtioning" or whatever the wording is. I am now running
the calabration routine.

I am wondering how long this usually takes. Usually, the battery get to
100% after a couple of hours or less. However, when I started charging it
this after noon, It said it had been charging since yesterday, and it took
probably 3 to four hours before running down started.

I am also wondering if both the voice and braille need to be running for
this process to work properly.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Rick Roderick
