Hi,
That's correct.
Cheers,
Joseph

Identical to the SSID in the Configuration?

Thanks Joseph. So here's my scenario:

I created a configuration that I called "Dad's Florida Linksys". The SSID
for that configuration is MyLinksys. When I was within range of that
particular router and I scanned for available networks, I did indeed have
a listing for Dad's Florida Linksys. If I panned to the right with the
front thumb keys, I could see an indication that the SSID was MyLinksys.

Since then, I've come back north and done different scans for routers. Now
and again I'll see Dad's Florida Linksys show up in my list again. I know
he never brought that router to Michigan. Sure enough, if I pan to the
right with the display, the SSID shown is Linksys, not MyLinksys.

Perhaps the step I keep leaving out when I try to explain things is that
you can actually view the associated SSID for a configuration by panning
to the right with the right-hand center thumb key. This apparently is the
actual SSID for the woreless network, not what you set in your
configuration.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi,
It's the SSID indeed that shows up when you are not connected to that
particular network. Once you give it a name, the config name will proceed
the SSID announcement. You can have a different config name that differs
from your SSID e.g. you can say "home" when talking about the SSID that
you
use at home, which may differ from the name that you gave to this
particular
connection config method.
Cheers,
Joseph

I understand seeing the name for my configuration if, indeed, there is a
network available that exactly matches the SSID in the configuration. What

I don't understand is seeing the configuration name when the SSID's don't
match. Isn't it the SSID that tells the BrailleNote whether a network it
has been configured for is available?

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi:
What happens when you scan for wireless networks? If you are saying
that you see the name you used in your network configuration that you
added to your BrailleNote, this is a normal thing.
