that was a mistake on Alex's part, normal bluetooth does work for pairing with a standard Mac computer.

Will a standerd usb cable work?

The MPower can do pairing with a standard mac via blueTooth, you're
thinking
of the IPhone/ITouch/IPad when you say only apex can do pairing for
displays.

Well, if you have an Apex, you can do all this via bluetooth,
otherwise you must use a usb connection unless you buy another
display. I hear that you can mute speech in the settings, but have no
exact steps for this. Google it; that should clear things up. In any
case, you need an Apex to do bluetooth, otherwise you will be stuck on
usb.

but then what is the point in that if you can't kill the speech? I
would not mind speech but for the part that I Am a broadcaster. And I
don't want two sound carrds either.

Hi,
I'd say for tactile access, like you are using JAWS with the BN as the
display.

ok, just one question. Someone posted that you can't aliminate vo,
then why have a display at all if vo will still be chattering away?

Hi,
You need the newer guy if you want to use UsB client. I'm not sure if
there
is a UsB driver for Mac yet.
As for Bluetoth, you need to turn on Bluetooth on that computer, find
your
coputer on your BN and activate ActiveSync once pairing is done. Then
you
need to go to Voiceover and add BrailleNote as the display.
Like I said, there are others who knows better than I do, so I'll
forward
your query to that other list.
Cheers,
Joseph

If you use blue-tooth then how would you do it? If usb, how would
you
do
it?

You can use a braille note however, it may have to be a newer one
like
the
new one that came out. Yes snowlepard does support braille.

I am not sure you can use a bn with a mac. Hopefully someone else

Subject: [Braille note] braille note on an I-mac

Listers, I am planning on getting an i-mac and I would like to be
able
to eliminate VOICE OVER witch is the default screen reader on a
mack
and instead use my braille note empower as a braille display.
Trouble
is, I haven't an idea on how to do it. I know you sink the two
devices
but how do you do it, and how do you make sure it works properly?
Thanks.
Please reply to both addresses.
