If you read the page you will see the name twice and a link to
add as friend. I haven't had any problems with adding anyone.
Click on the person's name and that will bring up the profile.
From there you can find add as friend and then send the friend
request button.

It worked as expected for me with ks9.01 on an apex. Try a reset,

try the whole thing over.
