Hi,
Sure- you can do that.
To change the thumb-key layout, go to Options Menu/Braille Options. Then
press SPACE until you see "thum-key set". Press C for custom then press
ENTER. The next four prompts will allow you to set the thumb-key layout to
suit your preferences:
* Previous: moves the display up by sentence, line or paragraph and is also
used to exit a menu.
* The back key is used to pan the display to the left.
* The advance key is used to pan the display to the right.
* The next key is used to move down by line, sentence or paragraph and is
used to select an item from a list.
In my case, I prefer to leave the thumb-key set to default layout (mostly
because I was used to shorter display length).
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] advancing the braille display

Hi everyone,

Me again. I'm still awaiting the arrival of my apex, but had another
question. When I was playing around with one, I noticed that the thumb
key to advance the display is actually not the one that's furthest to
the right--it's the secodn one in. Is there any way that the
right-most key can be used to advance the display? to me, it would
make sense to have the right-most key advance the display, as your
hand would automatically be there when you're reading the end of a
braille line? am I missing something? did anyone else find this a bit
counter-intuitive? I know I'd likely get used to it, but am wondering
if I was the only one who thought it was a bit unusual.
Take care,
-Shermeen
