Ah, la clase de Espanol. Que divertido, y buena suerte!
I took Spanish for five and a half years. I ended up learning 8 dot
Spanish computer braille and just using that for a long time, setting
my default document format to ms word so I could type in that braille
code then email my files or hand them in on a thumb drive without
translating. However, UEB (with ks8.0 or later) provides the ability
to enter accents in contracted braille, so I now use that.

As to pronunciation: I am not surprised. Even English synthesizers say
things strangely, and it may be that your teacher has an accent that
the bn does not. For example, your teacher may be speaking with an
American accent while the bn is doing its best to speak in a Spanish
or South American accent. It would be like a Spanish person teaching
English, and a student using a British synthesizer finding differences
in the way words are spoken from the American way in which the teacher
is pronouncing them. In short: go with what the teacher says, not the
synth. If you can understand it, though, a Spanish synth is a good way
to quickly read passages or stories. I did not use it much and so am
still not comfortable doing this, but if you get used to it as you
learn the language than you will eventually be able to listen with
confidence, a skill I wish I would have cultivated as I learned the
language.
