I would like to add that, for better or worse, I understand this to be something inherent in Win CE6 or later, not a decision on the part of hw. It is unfortunate for some, mostly because it stops us from looking at the files used by ks and because it means we cannot access cmd.exe, but, as stated in another post by Nicole, it does stop the curious from getting to curious and messing something up, especially as files are not stored and restored the same way in ce6 as they are in 4.2 (system files, not user files).
