Hi listers, I have had the following unpleasant experience several times and
finally got an answer. maybe this doesn’t apply to toom many of you. For
years, I mean since the mid 1980’s, I have kept an alphabetical list of names,
phone, addresses and emails in a brf file. I started this back when I had a
huge bunch of 3 by 5 index cards with names an numbers on them. Seems so
quaint now, but I converted all those cards in to the Braille-N-Speak. As I
went from the Braille-N-Speak, to the voicenote, to the Apex, I just kept
adding and subtracting from the file as warranted.
Well, I pasted in an email address earlier today and it changed everything
after that point in the file to grade one braille, at least I think it was
grade one. I couldn’t make sense of it. I went in to the braille option and
checked out the braille grade which was two. I couldn’t change the thing. I
called HW support and found out that I had to mark the part of the file that
was messed up, go in to the block commands, find grade of braille, and change
it to grade two. After that, things were as they had been prior to pasting in
the email address which I forgot to say, was in computer braille. So, if
anyone experiences similar issues, that is a way to repair the file. Other
than that, we should all remember to back up are files very regularly, like at
least once a week if not more.
Best regards, Jim
