If you want a device like windows go get a pacmate or a tablet PC and
get a screen reader. I also know of many small computers for sighted
people running windows ce and people who use them. They know the
limitations of a mobile platform and therefore wait and see what extra
stuff they can get through upgrades, they don't demand ms rewrites ce
because it doesn't meet one need.
Request added features - thats cool but remember you dont have to
program them in and at present bug fixing may be a higher priority.
I used a braillenote for 8 years before i got a laptop, and i was
grateful for what it could do and its size and straight forward system.
Now even with a laptop i still think it is good at its job. A laptop as
big as a braillenote has similar limitations because my sighted brother
has one so i know.
I could keep up with the sighted world quite well with just a
braillenote - its not that outdated. And as for things like pdf - i
can't even use then on the computer with out converting them to text so
i loose either way with them. At least there are work arounds for
braillenote's limitations, there sometimes is know way run a PC problem
because ultimately a PC was aimed at a sighted person, dispite the fact
that it is vary v.i friendly in many ways.
Thanks, Louise.

we don't need c e or keysoft. we need a new system with the basic

All could run on a, lenox or b, mac or even a more advance version of windows.

Doing that would require multi tasking, which is a long-awaited
feature that we have yet to see. Basically, keysoft would have to be
able to run multiple programs at the same time, and offer some sort of
task manager to keep track of them all. This is a major undertaking,
so do not expect it anytime soon since they just had to port keysoft
over to ce6 for the Apex. Then again, they may have made modifications
in the porting that would make such a feature easier... Either way,
keymail cannot alert you of anything until it can run in the
background, and it cannot do that until keysoft can multi task.

Hi, everybody.
I just wanted to follow up on Josh's post about making an alert sound
on Keymail to indicate that there is a new email in your In-Box, since
I'm the friend he was talking to. To all the computer users out
there, you know how when a new email is sent, the computer makes a
"ding" sound that tells you that there's a new email? That's what
we're talking about. That way, if you're using your Braille-Note to
check email, and you're doing something else, say something on the
Wordprocessor, you'll know when an email comes in so you can check it.
If Hw can do that on their next KeySoft version, that would be great!
Have a great day and happy New Year!
